Rooms / Apartments Reserved by UKC2005 Secretariat at Hotel UCI

A limited number of apartments were reserved by UKC2005 Secretariat for UKC2005 (Aug 10-15).  Hotel UCI offers ‘private’ or ‘shared’ occupancy in two-bedroom, one bathroom furnished apartments with fully equipped kitchens, local telephone and internet access, and weekday linen service.  The apartments reserved by UKC2005 Secretariat are 2-bedroom apartments. There are two single beds per bedroom.

The rate for renting one bedroom only in a two-bedroom apartment is $44 per night whereas the rate for renting the entire two-bedroom apartment is $74 per night.

Payment

Upon hearing the availability of a room or apartment, the applicant must pay full room / apartment charges in full by July 15, 2005, not at the time of check-in, and the payments can be made in the form of personal checks, travelers checks, money orders (payable to KSEA) or credit cards (Visa or Master Card).  UKC2005 Secretariat has already paid Hotel UCI for all the apartments reserved but it can return unnecessary apartments by July 15 and get the relevant costs refunded.  Therefore, UKC2005 Secretariat will cancel any reservation for which it has not received full payments by July 15.

Further Description of the Apartments at Hotel UCI

Hotel UCI is hosted in the Campus Village apartment community , located near the Science Library, the College of Medicine, and the Biological and Physical Sciences buildings. (See the bottom center portion of the UCI campus map.)

Hotel UCI offers ‘private’ or ‘shared’ occupancy in two-bedroom, one bathroom furnished apartments with:

• Equipped kitchen (refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishware, silverware, and cookware)
• Living room
• Dinette area
• Two single beds per bedroom
• One bathroom per apartment
• Daily housekeeping and linen service on weekdays
• Local telephone service
• Internet access, cable TV, VCR, DVD, and stereo

Apartments are not air conditioned, but tend to stay comfortable, thanks to coastal breezes. The campus is located five miles from the coast.

Apartment Types

• Private Apartment: An individual reserves the entire apartment for one guest or a group of up to 4 guests.
• Shared Apartment: Each of the bedrooms in an apartment is assigned to a separate party. A party may include one or two guests, and all guests in an apartment must be of the same gender to be eligible for this option. No more than four guest are assigned to an apartment, and all guest share the bathroom, kitchen, dining, and living room areas.

Check-In

Check-in time is between 1:00 pm - 10:00 pm daily.  Check-in at the Campus Village Community Center located next to Parking Lot 13.  Requests for special arrangements, such as early or late check-ins, must be made in advance by contacting the Hotel UCI staff.

Check-Out

Check-out is between 9:00 am - 11:00 am daily. Please contact the Hotel UCI staff to make special arrangements for early or late check-outs.

Keys

Keys to the apartments are issued at check in. Guests selecting a Private Apartment may check out a maximum of four keys. Guests selecting a Shared Apartment may check out a maximum of two keys. All keys must be returned by 11:00 am on the day of check-out. Guests will be charged $45.00 for lost keys.

Parking

Parking permits are required in all parking lots surrounding Hotel UCI. One-day permits may be purchased for $7.00 from the Hotel UCI staff at check-in. For longer term permits (weekly, monthly, entire summer, etc.), contact the Parking and Transportation Office at (949) 824-7486, or visit their website at: www.parking.uci.edu. The Hotel UCI staff will be happy to provide assistance with purchasing a parking permit when you arrive. Telephones & Internet Access & Cable TV

Telephones with free local calling are provided in all apartments. Phone cards to make long distance calls may be purchased at the UCI Bookstore on campus and at many other local establishments. A pay phone is located in front of the Campus Village Housing Office. Internet access will be available in each apartment for guests who have their own computers with a network card installed. Cable TV is provided free of charge in each apartment with 50+ channels to choose from, including HBO. Information about Internet access and cable TV can be found in check-in materials.

Smoking & Pets

All Campus Village apartments are non-smoking. Guests are prohibited from smoking inside the apartments and in any university buildings. Also, Hotel UCI guests are not allowed to have pets of any kind. Thank you for your cooperation with these policies.
