Abstract
As the development of
medical technology and improvement of way of life, the number of visually
handicapped person has been increased. There are many vision aid equipments
have been developed. such as a ultrasonic telemeter which used the other sense
to assist the sense of eyesight, optical character recognition(OCR), as well as
system applying to so called the eyesight recovery surgery and a magnify lens
which is known to glasses for the aged. However, most of those vision aid
equipment can not produce massively since they should be customized depending
on the level of seriousness so price of each equipment can be quite sizable.
This study is to introduce a portable low cost vision aid for the visually
handicapped person especially those who has a low vision under the class 4. The
system consists of a system which applies contemporary technology such as image
magnifying, control of wave length, control of intensity of radiation, and
focus adjustment. This study also shows its efficiency and convenience of usage
comparing with a simple type magnify lens through clinical experiment..
