Study about the multi-media streaming receiving technology that used MPEG 7 base metadata

Abstract

 

Stand up so that contents are transmitted from a long distance to a user  be composed of user information and a web server for contents management and streaming server basically. Used metadata server for management user information and contents officer had it in this study, and to have let you be more intelligent. Information of contents is composed with a title, main genre, sub-genre, name, role, summary contents, streaming server IP, and contents producer saves it in metadata server. Search contents information a remote accessed user uses a Metadata branch search way, a name search, a key word search, a title search, and to want in metadata server. Also, contents are provided to a user in streaming server located in a remote place if searched contents information is transmitted to a terminal of a user, and a user selects contents to want in contents information. Established one pair of metadata server and a lot of large streaming server in this study so that this is tested, and a way is by two tests in a user terminal. That is, used a way to receive streaming through compunction access with a way and Web accessed metadata server in PDA, and to receive streaming directly.

 

Short Biography

 

Prof. Sang Yep Nam is a professor of Department of information & communication of Kyung Moon College(KMC) in Korea. He has an interest in an Embedded system, a Speech recognition system, a medical image processing system and a factory automation field and is studying it.

Before joining KMC, he worked at the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology and a technical research organization of Motorola from 1987 to 1998. While he worked at the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology, he developed an industrial control system of CISC 68K CPU, and RTOS(VRTX etc). While work at Motorola of a CD/DVD related application field and a RISC Embedded system related application field was developed. He published over 25 papers in international conferences and journals, including IEEK, IWIT, ITC-CSCC and ICEIC. He received a B.S. in 1982 and a M.S. in 1984 from the Dankook University in Electronics Engineering and a Ph.D. in 2002 from the Dankook University in Electronics Engineering.
