Abstract

In recent times, the growing standardization of technology such as WiBro, DMB and Mobile RFID in Korea contributes to IT convergence. In this Article, we first present the standardization activities of these technologies and the application scenarios of how the new technologies would affect the acceleration of IT convergence. As these standard technologies get commercially available, convergence terminals are expected to be emerged, converging both the technologies on the lower level such as home network and U-sensor network, and the technologies on the upper level such as 2G/3G, WiBro, DMB. As a result, the new standard technologies will bring ubiquitous network or BcN into our lives in near future, at least technically.
