A.0. Home-stay (Newly posted on July 26, 2005)
One 4th year medical student at UCI offered a home-stay (just for "sleep") at her 2-bed room apartment 5 minutes walking distance to UCI. It is free for all three nights (Aug 11 ~ Aug 13) and will be for those who are on budget (likely graduate students). If interested, please send an email to ukc2005@dream.eng.uci.edu.
A.1. Hotel UCI => SOLD OUT (as of July 16, 2005)

Hotel UCI is hosted in the Campus Village apartment community , located near the Science Library, the College of Medicine, and the Biological and Physical Sciences buildings. (See the bottom center portion of the UCI campus map.)Hotel UCI offers ‘private?or ‘shared?occupancy in two-bedroom, one bathroom furnished apartments with fully equipped kitchens, local telephone and internet access, and weekday linen service. There are two single beds per bedroom.
The rate for renting one bedroom only in a two-bedroom apartment is $44 per night whereas the rate for renting the entire two-bedroom apartment is $74 per night.

If you are told that all apartments have been sold out, read the guideline on this Web page on how to send an application to the UKC2005 secretariat at ukc2005@dream.eng.uci.edu. The staff will then check if an extra reserved unit can be found.
If an apartment in Hotel UCI is not available, you may consider the dormitory option in A.2 or other hotel options in B.
A.2. Dormitory => Cancelled due to low demand (as of July 16, 2005)
The UKC2005 secretariat has reserved a certain number of dormitory rooms for the period of August 10 - August 15. The rate for renting a room is $41 per night.
The reserve these units, an email request should be sent to ukc2005@dream.eng.uci.edu.
The email request should include the name, address, email address, gender, check-in check-out dates of the applicant.When Hotel UCI is sold out, this is an alternative for low-cost, convenient lodging. Unlike Hotel UCI, the number of dormitory rooms available is quite substantial as long as a reservation request is made by the end of June 30, 2005.
